Ari D. Mintzer

Partner

Ari Mintzer is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group. He represents clients such as private and public companies, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions in sophisticated M&A and financing transactions, including litigation finance transactions with non-traditional asset classes. He is adept at negotiating and drafting complex credit facilities, mezzanine loans, and multi-tranche financings in connection with acquisitions, recapitalizations, and restructurings.

Ari has served as a trusted business partner for public companies in various roles over the past decade. With previous experience as assistant corporate secretary and associate general counsel for public companies, including Illinois Tool Works, Hillrom Holdings, and Baxter International, Ari’s counsel extends beyond the legal issues and considers the business implications of various legal options. Using a strategic problem-solving and business-focused approach, Ari develops creative solutions to complex matters. Because of this approach, Ari is a well-respected strategic partner, with corporate leadership looking to him for both legal and business advice.

Ari earned his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law and his B.B.A., with honors, from the University of Michigan. Outside the office, Ari enjoys running and spending time with his wife, children, and dogs. He is an avid University of Michigan fan and a polar plunge devotee.

    Before speaking, know what you know and what you don’t know. Then stick with what you know.

  • What’s your guilty pleasure?
    I am a devoted fan of the reality shows “Vanderpump Rules” and “Summer House”. I am unable to pull myself away from watching.

  • What was your very first job?
    I worked as part of a demolition crew for a construction company.

  • What is a personal accomplishment you’d like to share from the past year?
    I ran (and finished) the Chicago Marathon, my first marathon.
