Max Kohl is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. His practice primarily involves advising public and private companies, private equity firms, venture capital funds, and emerging growth companies in connection with complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital and debt raises, business formations, joint ventures, and other general corporate matters.
Max earned his J.D. from University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his B.B.A. from University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Before joining LP, he was an associate with Ropes & Gray LLP.
In his free time, Max enjoys staying active within the greater Chicago area, whether that’s swimming the lakefront or running on the 606, and catching the latest movies at the Music Box Theatre.

When visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at seven years old, my parents actually bought me the Doobie Brothers’ Greatest Hits CD. I’m not entirely sure if that’s an advisable parenting strategy but my family still owns that CD.What is a personal accomplishment you’d like to share from the past year?
Alongside some buddies, I won the Chicago Sport and Social’s men’s pickleball championship this past summer.
