Real Estate Partner Tal Izraeli will present for DePaul University's Business and Commercial Law Journal Symposium. The annual symposium features attorneys, judges, professors, and professionals from the Chicagoland area who are experts on commercial real estate matters.

The real estate and housing markets are entangled with economic and legal issues that often cannot be discussed separately. Regulatory guidelines that were implemented since the housing crash in 2008 may be ineffective in continuing to protect against a subsequent housing market crash. The post-recession housing market is reintroducing rent-to-own housing developments in Chicago, which comes with a strong troubled history. Overdevelopment, such as the new and improved Wrigleyville area, is shifting the neighborhood composition and may displace longtime residents. These issues, among a plethora of others, involve creative lawyering and require the balance between effective legal advice, business advice, and policy. The 2018 annual Business and Commercial Law Symposium will focus on exploring the legal implications of the regulatory changes and its challenges.
