Matthew M. Hinderman

Matthew Hinderman is a partner in Levenfeld Pearlstein's Corporate Practice Group. Matthew concentrates his practice in the area of tax and corporate planning for corporate mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he counsels his clients on private equity transactions, partnership transactions, international transactions, real estate joint ventures and other tax matters.

Matthew often works closely with private equity funds or owners of closely held businesses in the middle market acquisition space where he assists with structuring transactions and creating effective tax structures. He also assists by performing complicated calculations to model out potential tax consequences and waterfall distributions for partnership or limited liability company agreements.

His large law firm experience and straightforward approach to addressing business challenges has earned Matthew praise from clients who value his responsiveness, in-depth knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile for his clients.

Prior to joining LP, Matthew was a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and an accountant with CMD Realty Investors Inc. and Deloitte & Touche LLP.

  • What is one thing someone would be surprised to know about you?
    I lived in Hamburg, West Germany from 1982-1985 and I can speak and understand some German.

  • What is your guilty pleasure?
    A guilty pleasure of mine is watching American Ninja Warrior. My wife found it on vacation and now we are addicted.

  • If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be?
    If I wasn’t an attorney, my dream job would be a cap specialist for professional sports teams, especially football teams. Meaning someone who is in charge of the salary cap for a sports team, and negotiates the contracts etc.
