Levenfeld Pearlstein Names Melissa Nelson as Chief Talent Officer

Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC (LP) has named Melissa Nelson as its Chief Talent Officer. In this role, she will manage all aspects of the firm’s human resources systems and initiatives, lead recruiting and retention of the firm’s talent, oversee practice operations and learning and professional development programs, and develop programs designed to nurture the firm’s culture.
“Since joining the firm in 2018, Melissa has built and facilitated revolutionary training and leadership programs that support individual and collective success,” said Jeffery Hoffenberg, Managing Partner of LP. “We are thrilled that she will be at the helm as we continue building and nurturing talent that enables us to provide an exceptional client experience.”
As a member of the firm’s Professional Development Committee, Melissa leads attorney growth and development. She also works with the firm’s Compensation Committee to assess compensation and promotions. She designs and implements strategies that leverage LP’s values to develop talent, support wellbeing, and drive behavior and change. Taking a strategic and cohesive approach, Melissa works with firm leadership to align talent with the firm’s vision and business succession planning.
Melissa previously served as the firm’s Chief Learning and Development Officer. She is passionate about coaching and helping others build relationships at every career stage. She often guides attorneys and staff on how to have challenging conversations and effectively solve problems or conflicts. She frequently presents on a variety of professional development topics. Most recently, she presented at the 2022 Professional Development Consortium Conference about building a culture of Courageous Civility, a solution that drives innovation and results. Melissa has also presented on Managing Fairness for Better Health at the Employee Wellness Summit for Law Firms & Professional Services.
