Chris is a partner in the firm’s Employment & Executive Compensation Group. He partners with employers nationwide of all sizes and types as a strategic advisor on a wide range of day-to-day workplace issues, including hirings, terminations, reductions in force, performance management, leave management, internal complaints, wage-and-hour issues, independent contractor relationships, and accommodations. Clients trust Chris’s advice on their most complex and sensitive issues because he understands the importance of balancing risk with practical, business considerations.
Chris works closely with his clients to design, draft and implement workplace policies and procedures that reflect their business objectives and culture, while ensuring federal, state, and local compliance. He also regularly drafts and negotiates employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements and conducts audits, trainings and high-stakes investigations.
If litigation becomes necessary, Chris represents employers and senior executives in all types of employment disputes before courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators. He has extensive experience litigating single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, class, and collective action lawsuits involving employment-related claims, including, among others, employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour violations, and breach of contract. He has significant expertise in restrictive covenant and trade secret misappropriation disputes.
Chris is also a go-to advisor on employment matters in connection with M&A and investment transactions. On countless deals, he has led employment-related efforts on conducting diligence, drafting and negotiating agreements (such as purchase agreements and transaction-related employment, separation and compensation agreements), and preparing disclosure schedules.
Chris earned his J.D., from Washington University School of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame. Before joining Levenfeld Pearlstein, Chris was an attorney at Perkins Coie LLP.
