Sara Cooper is Senior Counsel in the Real Estate Group. She focuses her practice on commercial leasing, asset management transactions, and commercial acquisitions and dispositions. She advises landlords, investors, developers, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional owners, asset managers, and tenants in all aspects of commercial leasing, including office, retail, industrial, and medical office leasing. She also represents sellers and buyers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of commercial office, mixed-use and retail properties.
Sara recently co-authored “Retail Leases” in the IICLE - Commercial Landlord-Tenant Practice 2020 Edition. Prior to joining the firm, Sara was Of Counsel with Quarles & Brady LLP.

Not listening to the client. Taking the time at the beginning of a transaction to understand what the client wants and needs will save everyone time and frustration.What is something that makes you happy?

Fair is not equal to equal. This was a constant refrain by one of my high school English teachers and I think it’s a great reminder that sometimes in order to create a just situation, different people need/deserve different things. My kids are definitely sick of hearing it though!
