Q&A

  • What’s your favorite book?
Usually, my favorite book is the one I am currently reading. I generally focus on historical non-fiction. Here are three memorable ones from the last few years: The Escape Artist by Jonathan Freed, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara

  • What’s your guilty pleasure?
Garbage TV, particularly reality TV. I can watch anything – Bachelor, Bachelorette, VPR, The Valley, Summer House, Southern Charm, etc. Reality TV is a great escape from…..reality. If I had been born 25 years later, I would have auditioned for all of the shows.

  • What was the first concert you went to?
Grateful Dead, June 28, 1983, Poplar Creek Music Theater. I saw many Dead shows after that, including Jerry Garcia’s last show at Soldier Field on July 9, 1995. I listen to the Dead on a near daily basis. Brings me back to the 1980s.
